Developed a simplified asthma brochure that describes what asthma is including signs and symptoms, common triggers, medications, asthma resources and what to do during an emergency. Available in English and Spanish.
Asthma Resource Directory is being updated and will be available in English and Spanish. Provides information on community resources for asthma education, management, health care services, research studies and support groups.
Created a “SDRAC” webpage, hosted with assistance from Dr. Howard Taras, UCSD.
Asthma toolkit trainings provided for medical assistants, community health workers and other healthcare professionals.
Held an asthma preparatory course for the National Asthma Educator Certification Board Examination. The course provides the necessary knowledge base of asthma with an emphasis on techniques and practical application skills in delivering asthma education to patients.
