Research and Data Workgroup
- The Research and
Data Workgroup has released the 2008 Asthma
Report Card for San Diego County, offering a comprehensive
picture of how asthma affects San Diego County residents. The report card
looks at data from several different state and local organizations, including
San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, the California Health Information
Survey (CHIS), and the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development
(OSHPD).
- The workgroup has recently conducted a survey of asthma researchers in San Diego County to determine ways that SDRAC can support local research on asthma and allergies. Based on the results of this survey, the Research and Data workgroup has communicated the results and developed a list of referral information for the San Diego Asthma Education Network, a group of organizations providing in-home asthma education to children and adults. For more information on the Asthma Education Network, call (619) 472-4584 or (760) 761-4803 in North County.
- The workgroup is also developing a regional inventory of asthma programs for San Diego County.
- The Asthma Report Card was made
possible through funds from the office of San Diego County Supervisor Ron Roberts, and The
California Endowment. If you would like a print copy of the Report Card, please
contact Coalition Coordinator Luis Lechuga at 619-297-3901 or LLechuga@alac.org.
